The City of Crows Sticker

Adapted from an illustration I made to remember the triumph of the crows passive resistance against the lasers. Messy as they are, as menacing as they may seem, I respect their tenacity and enjoy their presence.

The Sunnyvale downtown has become a very popular fall and winter roosting location for the hundreds of crows that live in the area. As the sun sinks below the peaks of the Santa Cruz Mountains the crows arrive in dozens groups, building into a flapping, squawking cloud that dominates the sky and fills the air with noise. It's a remarkable sight to behold!

They are also prodigious poopers, which makes for real health and safety concerns for the people and businesses downtown. So the city has been trying out ways to deal with the mess. One thing they tried was to shoo them away by hassling them with a green pointer laser. But the crows are undeterred.
